When you become calm and still, the universe starts moving for you.
~Guru Dev Singh
What is Sat Nam Rasayan®
Sat Nam Rasayan® means “Healing in the True Identity.” For thousands of years this healing art has utilized awareness as the only tool. The healer enters a state of total surrender, becoming nothing, and operating from the state of shuniya (the state of zero where the ego is brought to complete stillness). In this state of shuniya, the mind of the healer becomes transcendent and in the vastness of this consciousness, healing occurs. The process involves holding a neutral, contemplative state of awareness, where one becomes aware of everything through all of one’s sensations, and then allowing the resistances to change or release as one continues to hold the state of awareness. Resistances can be many things including distractions, differentiation of sensations, preconceptions, conditions, boundaries or limits.
What Sat Nam Rasayan® heals
The Sacred Space of Sat Nam Rasayan® has no limits. Sat Nam Rasayan® can resolve functional disorders as well as pain in general and spiritual or mental disorders such as fear, fatigue and depression.
Both acute and chronic diseases can be healed, though Sat Nam Rasayan® considers disease as indications of intense or chronic conflicts whose resolution may not include the disappearance of the illness. Often Sat Nam Rasayan® is used to produce overall improvement, balancing the patient’s bodily functions and raising his or her spirits and tolerance.
How Sat Nam Rasayan® works
The practitioner enters the state of heightened perception towards the patient, allowing the patient’s condition to affect him or her. The healer maintains a stable consciousness, then allows the effects to occur and gives unconditional permission to all the sensations he or she perceives. Then by the healer’s releasing or modifying sensations felt in this contemplative state, healing takes place. It is not necessary to know the patient’s disorder for healing to occur. The Sat Nam Rasayan® practitioner has an enhanced awareness of their own subtle body, and can hold the capacity of the meditative mind to hold the Sacred Space of healing, compassion and surrender. The mind of the Sat Nam Rasayan® healer/practitioner can become transcendent, and in the vastness of this consciousness, healing will occur. This state is a pure meditative absorption between the healer and client, in the divine. When the healer and client become one, that is when healing occurs.
Sat Nam Rasayan® recognizes that a limitless Sacred Space exists, which is available to all people, and which mystics throughout the ages have experienced. It is within the Sacred Space that transcendent consciousness occurs and in which healing takes place. Sat Nam Rasayan® is compatible with all religious faiths.
Though Sat Nam Rasayan® is a spiritual healing, there is nothing miraculous about it. A miracle occurs when something extraordinary happens and natural laws are broken. Sat Nam Rasayan® is natural. The healer simply removes resistances which stand in the way of the patient being more free. There are no fundamental boundaries nor limitations to the healing process. Sat Nam Rasayan® can be applied effectively to matters of body, mind and spirit.
Sat Nam Rasayan® is essential non-dualistic in its approach to healing, therefore there are fewer limits to the complexity of what can be treated. The healing potential is as limitless as the consciousness of the healer.

Sat Nam Rasayan® Lineage
The manifestation of the Sacred Space through successive generations of masters and disciples constitutes the lineage of Sat Nam Rasayan®. The lineage is not only composed of individuals but also of the knowledge itself that resides in them and remains alive. It is an entity whose abilities go beyond those attributed to human beings. It is void of form and ritual and not specific to any religion or belief system. We know of Taoist and Sufi masters who have had this knowledge and the modern School Of Sat Nam Rasayan® cites a Punjabi Saint of the 16th Century, Guru Ram Das (1531 – 1581), 4th Guru of the Sikh Tradition. His purity and neutrality stand out and although he did not create Sat Nam Rasayan®, he personified the Sacred Space so completely that he is considered an archetype of the system.
Guru Dev Singh, PhD, current living Master of Sat Nam Rasayan®, was trained by Yogi Bhajan, PhD. The essential requirement for being a master of Sat Nam Rasayan® is that the Sacred Space is stably manifested in them.
Guru Dev Singh learned Sat Nam Rasayan® from Yogi Bhajan in the traditional way, that is in silence. Historically, spiritual knowledge/the spiritual power of the teachings was transmitted by the process of induction. The apprentice learned by simply being nearby, within the teacher’s aura or psychic influence. The teacher would use the connection with the Sacred Space in order to induce the experience in the disciple. The spoken word was never necessary to transmit or practice it. The method of teaching is exclusive, allowing only one or two students at a time, perhaps only one in each generation. In 1988, Yogi Bhajan, who had previously been sharing undivulged teachings for over 25 years, asked Guru Dev Singh to teach Sat Nam Rasayan® and to found a school where anyone who was interested could learn to heal. The title of Master passed from Yogi Bhajan to Guru Dev Singh, who in obedience to the former, is developing the present teaching method. It’s a living, breathing art. Guru Dev is the first and only teacher in the 700-year lineage of Sat Nam Rasayan®to structure its healing treasures into a linear form for all to learn and practice.
